Vivekananda Ratha Yatra

                          As part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150^th Birth Anniversary Celebrations,Ramakrishna Math ,Hyderabad has taken up Vivekananda Ratha Yatra through out Andhara Pradesh from 11-09-2012.This Ratha Yatra reached Visakhapatnam on 20-02-2013.A mega rally and public meeting was organised at Beach road by Ramakrishna Mission.Around 15000 students and public participated.

                          Different floats were arranged on the beach road..VVYM was given an opportunity to put a float.VVYM neatly decorated the float with Swamiji’s 3 feet statute and different banners on our activities and Telugu publications with VVYM silver Jubilee logo.VVYM volunteers participated in good number as volunteers.

                        Ratha Yatra taken up by VVYM for 7 days as follows

•   .Ratha Yatra was arranged at Aadavivaram Gurukula Patasala on 24-02-2013,morning with a talk by Swami Purnabodhanandaji(RK Math,Hyd).In the afternoon the Ratha Yatra proceeded to Vignana Vihara school,Gudilova.(Sri D.Venkatarao ,Chy Vinay,Chy JS Reddy took initiative.)

           Ratham was received at 5.30 p.m. at KSR Green Valley( near NSTL) with Purna Kumbam and Mela Thalas.It proceded to Muralinagar via Madhavadhara Vuda Colony,Kalinganagar,Tenneti Nagar.A public Meeting was organized at 6.30 p.m. at Prasanthi Park.,Sector-3,Muralinagar .Programme started with Mahamandal Anthem and Swadeshi Mantra.Sri Somaraju,Secretary,VVYM welcomed the guests.Smt Umabala,Principal,Prisam Degree College presided over the function.Swami Purnabodhanandaji and Swami Guneshanandaji (RK Mission Ashrama,Visakhapatnam) inspired the audience.Sri PSN Raju (Former Secretary,VVYM) also spoke.Cultural programmes were performed by Balabanu,GVMC Madhavadhara,MSM Public School children..Prizes to children were sponsored by Smt U.Subha (Vanitha Walkers Club).Ramakrishna Math Literature was distributed to Audience. Programme ended by 8.30 p.m.with the vote of thanks by Sri D.Venkatarao,Asst.Secretary,VVYM.

The Ratha Yatra was organised at various places till 27/02/2013 keeping the RATHAM and other exhibition vehicles at Vaisakhi Skating Park,Muralinagar. Accomodation to the 22 volunteers was provided at Vanitha Walkers Club,First Floor,Vaisakhi Park..Hospitality to the volunteers was looked after by well-wishers in Muralinagar Area.

• Ratha Yatra was organised at Sri Haripuram Swamy Vivekananda Public School and Sarswathi Vidyamandir on 25.02.2013.(Meetings conducted) Ratham kept at Old Gajuwaka Jn.(5 p.m. To 7 p.m.).Sri PL Narasimharao coordinated.
• Ratham was kept at two points in Muralinagar on 26.02.2013 and children of various schools were allowed to see it.In the after noon a meeting was conducted at Balabhanu School.. In the evening Ratham was kept at NH-5 Anjaneya Temple .(Sri GV Ratnam,Sri P.Sree Ram Murthy,Sri M.Rangarao,Smt U.Subha,Sri A.Sreenivasarao of Muralinagar took initiative)
• Ratham was kept at Ramakrishna Public School(Meeting),Kendriya Vidayalaya-I &II,Govt Polytechnic on 27.02.2013.In the evening Ratham was kept at NAD junction .(Sri J.Janardanarao, Chy Vidyadhar took initiative)

• Rathayatra proceeded as a big rally from NAD to Gopalapatnam on 04.03.2013,Morning and Ratham was placed at Gopalapatnam High School.Meeting arranged at Balaji Public School ,Gopalapatnam..In the evening a public meeting arranged at Simhachalam by Samskhara Bharathi and Ramakrishna Devotee..Swami Guneshanandaji,Swami Sithikantanandaji(RK Math,Hyd) gave lectures.
• Ratha Yatra was organised at Pendurthi on 07.03.2013 and at Sujatha Nagar(Meeting at DAV School) on 8.03.2013.(Sri V.Viswanadh,Vice-President,VVYM and Sri Poleswararao took initiative).

Many of the VVYM members and well-wishers involved in the Ratha Yatra in all possible ways.

Blood Donation Camp,2013

VVYM organised a Voluntary blood donation camp on 03.02.2013(Swami Vivekananda's Thithi birth day) at Patanjali Yoga Kendra,MVP colony in association with AS Raja Voluntary Blood bank..Dr Umabala,Principal,Prisim Degree &PG college inaugurated the Blood donation camp.

Around 42 units of blood was collected from members,employees,students. VVYM members from Kakinada(Sri J.Mohan Kumar) and Tanuku (Sri B.Sreedahr) came exclusively for Blood Donation.

Swami Vivekananda's literature was given to the blood donors. A book-stall on Swami Vivekananda literarature was arranged by Universal Meditation Center,Kailasgiri.
