AGM 2008 Meeting Minutes

Minutes of AGM of Visakhapatnam Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal held on 29-06-2008(Sunday)

Annual General Meeting was started with Mahamandal Anthem and Swadeshi Mantra at Punjab National bank cellar premises, NAD junction, Visakhapatnam at around 10 a.m on 29/06/2008.
Ramanama Sankirtan done by Sri P.L.Narsimharao and other members as it is Ekadasi day.

Tributes paid to Sri Ch.Satyanarayana,VVYM and Sri Ganapathi Seva Samithi member who passed away in May,2008.

Sri Valluri Veerabhadrarao(Secretary,Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samithi,Vetlapalem,E.G.District) was the chief-guest and spoke on “Swami Vivekananda:An Ideal for Youth”

Sri Peddiraju Srinivas (A.U.Vivekananda Study Circle Member,1990-1994)came from Hyderabad and spoke on “Will Power and It’s Develpoment”.

Sri P.Munuswamy,Senior Mahamandal member from Bhilai Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal spoke on “How we can take Swamiji to our youth?”

Sri Mantena Satyanarayana Raju,President ,VVYM spoke on Swamiji.

Arise!Awake Exhibition was also organized at near by venue. Around 500 students visited the exhibition A book-stall on Swamiji was also organized at the exhibition.

Annual report for the year 2007-2008 was read out and passed.

Statement of Accounts for the year 2007-2008 was read out by the secretary and passed.

Proposals for the year 2008-2009 were discussed.

VVYM site review & VVYM 20th anniversary celebrations were discussed.

The following action plan was proposed for the year 2008-2009

1) A 2 or 3 days youth training camp will be conducted on the eve of VVYM 20th year celebrations.
2) To open a savings bank account in ICICI Bank, Dwarakanagar for building fund.
3) To Conduct free coaching classes for Govt. Polytechnic, Visakhapatnam students.
4) To organize Blood Donation camps on every important occasion.
5) To Publish Telugu book of “Solving problems: The Vivekananda way”.
6) To continue searching of site vigorously and to collect donations for building fund.
7) Participating in ABVYM Annual Youth Training camp without fail.
8) To form Sub- Committees for the effective functioning of VVYM.
9) To accept regular voluntary donations from the members for the effective running of VVYM
10) To enroll like- minded young men as members.
